Our vision is: Restoring lives by rebuilding under-served and disadvantaged communities and populations.

About Us

Vision 21 Concepts, Inc. (Vision 21) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. We are committed to build support for the homeless issues and provide programs and services for the disadvantaged population in the Douglas County and Atlanta Metro area through our programs and collaborations. We provide safe, clean supportive housing each year for homeless and formerly homeless people to help them learn to live productively and independently, with dignity and hope. Vision 21 has helped hundreds of individuals achieve independence, and we are ready to help many more in the future, until the day that homelessness no longer exists, and until the day that our local communities are as socially rich and as economically vital as possible.

Vision 21 was founded in 1999 by Reverend Dr. Edwin E. Ford in response to the Georgia Department of Corrections Probation Office call for the creation of a community-based program to provide probationers as volunteers to community service agencies. The organization quickly offered a helping hand to The S.H.A.R.E. House (a safe haven for women alluding domestic violence), the Douglas County Food Bank, the Douglas County Homeless Shelter, the Douglas County Historic Commission, the Douglas County school system, and a number of children and senior citizens associations. Vision 21 embarked on a number of projects which would leave a lasting impact on the Douglas County community such as the restoration and rehabilitation of the Chapel Hill Courthouse and the old Douglas County Courthouse, the preservation of the Liberty Grove (slave) Cemetery and the donation of computers to disadvantaged children.

Reverend Dr. Edwin E. Ford was recognized and honored by the City of Douglasville, Georgia and the Douglas County Board of Commissioners for his vision to help countless individuals in the City to combat homelessness and for the Vision 21 programs. Dr. Ford was highly commended for being a trendsetter in the community to empower youth, strengthen the economically disadvantaged and transition the homeless towards self-sufficiency and with the purpose of transforming people and places in a myriad of ways.
